Raycast Settings is where you can customize your experience, select preferences for all built-in features or installed extensions, as well as assign shortcuts to instantly launch commands, quicklinks and applications.
It is accessible through the Ctrl , hotkey or the Open Settings command in root search.
General
The General tab lets you tailor Raycast to your needs:
- Appearance: Raycast supports a light and dark theme. By default, it adopts your system appearance, however, you can select either as your preference.
- Open at login: We recommend keeping this toggled on in order to have Raycast available as soon as you start your computer.
- Hotkey: Set your global hotkey to launch Raycast (by default, we suggest
AltSpaceduring onboarding). - Window Mode: Choose between Expanded (default) and Compact mode.
- Updates: Check for available updates or access our Changelog (see the Product Updates section for more information)
Shortcuts
Through Raycast Settings you can easily assign shortcuts to all of your Applications and Commands. You can do so in either:
- The Shortcuts tab, which gives you a bird’s-eye view of all your shortcuts, and lets you filter them by category and modification.
- Each Extension’s dedicated tab, where apart from extension-specific settings, you can access set shortcuts to all associated commands.
Find out all about shortcuts and available hotkey types in our dedicated Shortcuts page.
Core Feature Settings
All core Raycast features will be available in the panel on the left. Navigating through these tabs will provide you with various feature-specific settings to personalize your experience, as well as an additional way to assign Shortcuts.
Extension Settings
Each Extension you install will also appear as a tab in the left bar. Navigate to the tab to manage the preferences of each one, authenticate or enter access tokens, as well as to assign Shortcuts.
