What Windows OS versions are supported?

I am having trouble installing Raycast on Windows 11

If you are running into an "App installation is not allowed" error, please make sure that your Windows version is up to date. At least to Windows 11, H2.

Do I need to be the administrator of my machine to install Raycast?

For now, you will need the ability to download the necessary libraries in order for Raycast to run. We will be working on a bundled installer (including all of the necessary libraries) soon, so this won’t be strictly needed once we have it.

Can I install Raycast if I am not an admin of my machine?

Unfortunately, if you do not have the admin rights to install the needed libraries and dependencies, then you won’t be able to install Raycast at the moment. We will be working on fixing this soon.

I am using the Global Hotkey but Raycast is not showing up. What do I do?

It is possible that your configured hotkey is being used with a different app. Please try set a different hotkey for Raycast to see if that works. You can change this in Raycast Setttings > General > Global Hotkey.

Raycast is consuming an unexpectedly large amount of resources.

How can I change the Global Hotkey to open Raycast?

The global hotkey can be change in the Raycast Settings window. Search for Settings in root search and you will find the option in the General tab.

How do I update to the latest version of Raycast?

To update to the latest version run the Check For Updates command. If there is an update you can press ↵ to install it. You can view our changelog using the ChangelogCommand

Where is my data in Raycast stored?

All of our native commands, like File Search and Clipboard History execute and store your data locally on your machine.

Is Raycast available in my country?

Raycast is available globally with the following exceptions: Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
